Hardworking supporters of the Noah’s Ark Appeal have been making great strides in their goal to raise money for the first children’s hospital in Wales.
Colin and Teresa Jones and their two daughters endured the horrendous weather of a wet Welsh autumn to make the 20-mile trek from Llanidloes to Machynlleth. It took them three hours to complete their journey, and although they were soaked through to the bone by the time they reached their destination, their trek raised £1700 for the Children’s Hospital.
The Noah’s Ark Llanidloes Committee, which has now raised over £18,000 for the Noah’s Ark Appeal, also recently held a fundraising concert, was attended by Appeal Director, Suzanne Mainwaring.
There were fantastic raffle prizes on offer, donated by both businesses and individuals, and entertainment was provided by local performers.
Mrs Janet Williams, Secretary of the Llanidloes Noah’s Ark Appeal Committee, was delighted with how the evening went and how much money was raised.
“All our performers gave up their time for free, and people were very kind in donating prizes for the raffle. Through the sale of raffle tickets alone, we managed to raise over £1000!”
Appeal Director Suzanne Mainwaring said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Llanidloes Committee had obviously worked very hard to make it such a success.”
