Joshua's Story
Little Joshua, 19 months, contracted meningitis and was treated at the Children's Hospital for Wales. Mum Karen and her family found it a very tough time, but Karen says of the hospital: "The care Joshua received, the care we even received, and after care for the whole family was simply perfect. We can't thank you and the staff enough for saving our boy." After Joshua made a full recovery, Karen wanted to thank the hospital in a big way - so she decided to run a marathon in the Big Apple! Karen has so far raised £1166, and you can read more about her in our News section.
Radiothon 2008
The following miraculous, happy, sad and moving stories were recorded over the Noah's Ark Appeal's first ever Radiothon, a three-day event in which the hospital's doors were opened and the people of South Wales learned about what really made the hospital's wheels turn. Matthew's Story
Matthew is fifteen and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which means his muscles don't develop properly. This condition must be awful for a teenager who always wants to be out and about, but Matthew is surprisingly upbeat.
Orla's Story
Young Orla has ALL Leukiemia, which involves rigorous and often painful treatment. This is very distressing for her parents.
