Who is the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity?
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity is the official charity of the Children’s Hospital for Wales.  We were set up in 2000 to raise money to build the first Children’s Hospital in Wales, at the time we were the only country inEuropewith out a dedicated children’s hospital.  The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity now fundraises to equip and provide further support for the Children’s Hospital forWalesensuring that it has state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best treatment possible.

How much money has the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity raised so far?
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity raised the £5 million needed to build Phase One of the Children’s Hospital for Wales which opened to patients in 2005.

Since then we have raised raised £300,000 towards the building of a teenage cancer trust unit. We have funded £200,000 worth of state-of-the-art equipment for the paediatric eye department making it one of the best in theUKand provided at a cost of £150,000 free bedside TV and radio for patients at the Children’s Hospital for Wales.

What are you fundraising for now?
We are now raising £7m for Phase Two of the children’s hospital.  Unlike Phase One we will not be paying for the building costs however the £7m we are currently raising will be used to fund a number of key projects which will ensure that the hospital has state of the art equipment to provide the children of Wales with world-class treatment & care.

The main projects we will be fundraising for are:

  • hydrotherapy pool
  • Equipment for the critical care unti
  • An open MRI scanner
  • 2 intergrated theatres
  • An enclosed garden for therapy, rehabilitation, education and leisure

How many people work at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity?
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity is a small charity with just 5 paid members of staff.  We rely on volunteers for support at our office, to run our shop in the hospital and to help us run our events and activities.

How does the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity fundraise?
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity relies on donations.  We receive tremendous support from the general public who support us through individual donations, regular donations, gifts in their Will, gifts in celebration or in memory of loved ones. We also receive great support from companies, community groups, schools and colleges who contribute to our fundraising efforts in a number of ways. We also benefit from grant received from charitable trusts.

How can I help?
There are a number of ways to help the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity as an individual and with friends or by getting your company, school or community group involved. Making a donation or raising money through organising or taking part in events and activities are really great ways to help us as raising funds to support the Children’s Hospital for Wales is the reason we exist.  You can also help us by volunteering your time and skills to help at our office, shop or at events.
