Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, under the government scheme called Gift Aid we are able to reclaim the tax already paid on any donation you make to the Noah's Ark Appeal. This means that any donation you make can be worth nearly a third more at no extra cost to you.

How does it work?

The Noah's Ark Appeal can claim back the tax you have paid on your donations if you make a Gift Aid Declaration stating that you are a UK taxpayer and that you pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that The Noah's Ark Appeal will reclaim on your donations (currently 28p for every £1 donated).

You can make your Gift Aid Declaration in writing, over the telephone or by downloading and completing a form (see below).

You are entitled to cancel your Gift Aid Declaration at any time and any donations made after the date of cancellation will be taken out of the Gift Aid scheme. Your Gift Aid Declaration can cover more than one donation and may apply to future donations indefinitely.

Since 6 April 2000 covenants are no longer tax effective. They now fall under the Gift Aid scheme and therefore you will need to make a Gift Aid Declaration in addition to signing a Deed of Covenant.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim tax relief for any donations made under the Gift Aid scheme. By making a Gift Aid Declaration you will be increasing any donations you make to The Noah's Ark Appeal by almost a third.

Please contact the Appeal office on 029 2033 5016 if you would like a gift aid declaration form.
