The Pounds Came in Two by Two

The people of South Wales have recycled 4218 tonnes of used newspapers and magazines this year and as a result Aylesford Newsprint has donated £3018 to the Noah's Ark Appeal and £1200 to the South Gwent Children's Foundation.

Aylesford Newsprint's Karen Newell presents a cheque for £3018 to Lyn Jones from the Noah's Ark Appeal. They are joined by Gareth Mapley from BIFFA Recycling Operations.

Aylesford became involved with both projects in October 2002 and agreed to donate £1 for every tonne of paper collected in Aylesford paper banks, serviced by BIFFA Waste Services, around South Wales.

Karen Newell, area manager at Aylesford Newsprint commented, "We are delighted to be supporting these worthwhile causes, especially as it encourages the community to recycle and we hope to donate an even bigger amount next year!"

Lyn Jones, Chairman of Trustees for the Noah's Ark Appeal commented, "We are very grateful for Aylesford's continued support. It's good to know that our fundraising has a positive environmental impact on the area and I'm delighted to receive this generous donation."
