Beefy Makes Hospital Visit
Ian Botham was the latest supporter to view the progress of the first Children's Hospital for Wales. Making a special visit to the site of the new hospital at UHW in Cardiff, Beefy was impressed by the new building.

Outside, the new hospital resembles a boat with its cedar cladding, balconies and portholes. The sails, the crowning glory of the new hospital will be installed within the next six weeks.
Inside, Beefy accompanied by Stanley Thomas, Chairman of the Appeal chatted to builders who were hard at work finishing the spacious rooms and wards.
When asked by ITV Wales: Is the hospital what the children of Wales deserve? Beefy said that a world-class hospital is what every child deserves – it had been a shame that Wales for all the past decades has been the only country in Europe without a purpose-built hospital for sick children.
The Noah's Ark Appeal organised two walks with Ian that have raised £1.4 million. This money was given by thousands of schools, individuals, companies, social groups and councils across Wales who took part in the Walks and also lined the streets every day to cheer the cricketing legend on.

Over the next few months, the inside of the first Children's Hospital will be transformed through art and lighting to create a friendly, magical place for the children who will be its patients.
