12 Hour Diveathon
On the 17th December at 8.00am the qualified divers of Ocean Quest commenced on a 12 hour dive-a-thon to raise money for the Children's Hospital for Wales.
The huge fish tank in their reception on the first floor of the Ocean Ward is currently fishless and so the team at Ocean Quest have stepped in to raise funds to stock the tank to all the glory of the World’s finest dive sites. The attempt has also raised funds to help finalise the Ocean Ward on the first floor of the Children’s Hospital, so the facility can move into their next stage, including a teenage cancer unit, a children’s eye clinic and a private garden.
As part of the dive-a-thon event the team invited people to join them at the Heath Hospital Leisure Centre swimming pool to either have a go at scuba diving or, for qualified divers, to have a splash around. A great day was had by all and everyone that attended the event provided generous donations for the Appeal.
