Winner of the Ceredigion and Aberystwyth County Show raffle, Mr Cynog Dafis, gave an extra special Christmas gift to sick children in Wales this year when he donated his prize to the Children’s Hospital.

Mr Dafis, the former MP for Ceredigion, was delighted to win the star prize in the charity raffle but immediately requested that the TV be donated to the Children’s Hospital. 

Anxious that the prize should benefit children spending the festive season in hospital, raffle organiser and dedicated Noah’s Ark Appeal supporter, Dr Glyn Jones, made a special trip to Cardiff to deliver the TV.

The TV was donated by local electrical shop owner, Mr Sid Smith of Walkers, Aberystwyth, who said, “I am glad to be able to play a small part in ensuring that the children attending the Children’s Hospital for Wales will be able to watch TV in the comfort of such a wonderful and important building in Wales.”

The special gift was delivered to the Children's Hospital on Friday 22nd December 2006, where it was gratefully received by staff and patients.
