Charity Champion

Percy Montgomery, the internationally renowned rugby star who plays for Newport RFC, has joined the Noah's Ark Appeal as 'Charity Champion'.

Percy said "I am delighted to undertake this role for such a worthwhile cause and look forward to acting as an ambassador for the new Children's Hospital. I hope to be able to encourage local businesses to raise money for the Ian Botham Valleys Walk and look forward to my visits to local schools where we hope to arrange rugby master classes alongside fundraising activities."

Director of the Noah's Ark Appeal, Suzanne Mainwaring, said "It is great to have Percy on board. He will undoubtedly create huge interest wherever he goes and will be able to remind everyone of the continuing need to support the new Children's Hospital for Wales."

Percy will help those participating in the Valleys Walk to prepare for the day at an introductory session for walkers to be held at Rodney Parade, the home of Newport Rugby, on Wednesday 13 August.
