In memory of Mark Truelove
It has been over 3 years since our friend Mark Truelove was tragically killed whilst on holiday in Spain, leaving a wife Helen and 3 children, Rhys, Ryan & Laura. His friends however, are keeping his memory alive by regularly arranging benefit nights and dart tournaments in his honour. All proceeds raised are donated to the Noah’s Ark appeal - which is the charity chosen by his 3 children - and to date over £6,000 has been raised. The base for our events is the Baden Club, Ynyshir, Rhondda and there have been many donations for these events including the raffle prizes, artists donating their time to entertain in the benefit nights as well as in monetary form. Suzanne Mainwaring from the Noah’s Ark Appeal has also donated her time to attend and accept the cheques on behalf of the Appeal.
Mark had been a member of the same dart team for 20 years and was a valuable asset to the team due to his skill. The dart tournament had a record 105 entrants in 2006 with players coming from all over Wales and even Bristol to take part. There were also a number of Welsh Internationals, both past and present, taking part and the standard of the games played was exceptional. The tournament is played on an annual basis on Easter Sunday and anyone wishing to attend is welcome.
Mark’s family and friends would like to thank everyone who has helped over the years and hope they will continue to do so.
