Funding Sucess: A Statement from the Appeal
The 5th December was a special day for the Noah’s Ark Appeal and its many thousands of supporters: the day that the Health Minister gave the green light for a completed Children’s Hospital.
Lyn Jones, Chairman of Trustees acknowledged the work of the Minister “Our grateful thanks go to Edwina Hart for breaking the deadlock that has so long stalled the completion of the Children’s Hospital. She has been in office for just a short while and has already ended the frustration we have all felt facing delay after delay. Our thanks also go to the media and all of the political parties where we have had constant and unwavering support – they have helped us to keep the Children’s Hospital on the agenda and now can share in our success.
We have already been approached by the doctors and planners at the Children’s Hospital. Bricks alone aren’t enough to ensure a world-class facility and they have presented us with a wish-list that will ensure the final phase of the Children’s Hospital is truly first-class. We recently provided £200,000 of equipment to the eye department at UHW and this has resulted in the department becoming one of the very best in the UK. We will strive to ensure that the sick children of Wales receive the very best of care. The Noah’s Ark Appeal will launch details of our new fundraising campaign in the New Year.
A Merry Christmas to all of our supporters without whom a Children’s Hospital would not be a reality – we look forward to working with you again in the New year.”
