Institute of Fundraising Award Noah's Ark Appeal
The Noah's Ark Appeal was awarded 'Best Fundraising Event of the Year' at the the Institute of Fundraising Annual Awards 2003. The award was made for the Ian Botham Walk from Machynlleth to Cardiff in spring 2002, which raised nearly £1 million for the Children's Hospital for Wales.
Suzanne Mainwaring said "I am delighted that the work of the Noah's Ark Appeal has been recognized in this way. It is a great tribute to all the staff and volunteers and to the Trustees who have devoted so much time to the project. Ian Botham's efforts with the support of Kathy, his wife, and his hardworking team, fully deserved this recognition which is also a reward for the Appeal team which put so much work, over many months, into helping Ian to raise so much money. And our sincere thanks go also to the people across Wales, from all walks of life who have been heartwarmingly generous in support of the new children's hospital".
The main award for 'Fundraiser of the Year' was awarded to Suzanne Mainwaring for her work as Director of the Noah's Ark Appeal.
