Noah's Ark Appeal Announces 'We Won't be Taking a Breather!'
"We can announce that the Noah's Ark Appeal has met its target of £6.8 million to build Phase One of the first children's hospital for Wales" said Chairman of the Noah's Ark Appeal, G Stanley Thomas at a media conference on 27 September 2004. He added "But the Appeal won't be taking a breather!"
Focusing on key objectives, which, during the course of the appeal have become vital aspects of its work, the Noah's Ark Appeal will continue to support the Children's Hospital for Wales and the families who will use its facilities.
One of the vital components of work carried out by the Noah's Ark Appeal has been lobbying the Welsh Assembly Government to give their financial support to this much-needed resource.
"As the Noah's Ark Appeal moves into the next phase, we will continue to pressure WAG to maintain the world-class standard of facilities, care and equipment that the Children's Hospital of Wales will set and that the children of Wales deserve.
"Our ongoing fundraising activities will support much needed facilities and projects at the Children's Hospital including a teenage cancer unit and a children's eye clinic. Other projects will include a private garden with the grounds of the Children's Hospital - a haven for children and their families" said Roz Robinson, Community Relations Manager at the Noah's Ark Appeal.
She continued "Our objective is to ensure that we not only provide a world-class hospital but also to continue to raise funds to support and maintain a world-class standard of care and facilities for the poorly children who are treated there and their families."
