Bring a Pound to Work Day 2002

Real Radio's 'Bring a Pound to Work Day' took place on November 8th with the purpose of raising money for the Noah's Ark Appeal. Real Radio promoted the event for several weeks, encouraging workforces across Wales to sign up for a day of fundraising where employees each come to work with a pound to donate to charity.

The response to Real Radio's appeal was magnificent - over 400 companies from throughout the station's broadcast area took part in the event. Registrations were received from businesses as far apart as Pembroke Dock, Chepstow and Merthyr Tydfil.

Bags of coins were collected from participating companies on November 8th by Real Radio presenters Sarah and Terry, Noah's Ark Appeal staff and trustees, and volunteers from groups throughout the community.

"Bring A Pound To Work Day was a great success, raising over £43,000 for the first Children's Hospital for Wales and providing a huge boost to the Noah's Ark Appeal. The efforts of staff at Real Radio FM were invaluable," said Roz Robinson of the Noah's Ark Appeal.
