Tenovus Donation

On 20th June 2002 Charlotte Church, Patron of the Noah's Ark Appeal, visited the Children's Wards at the University Hospital of Wales to meet representatives of Wales' leading Cancer Charity, Tenovus, who announced a donation of £100,000 to the Appeal in support of the new Children's Hospital for Wales.

Guy Clarke, the Chairman of Tenovus said, "This substantial donation will help to support cancer care for children in Wales and forms part of our annual investment programme of over £2 million in cancer research, patient care, counselling and education".

Taking time off from her GCSE exams Charlotte Church said, "One of the major benefits of the new children's hospital will be to unite children's services on one site. For children suffering from cancer, this will hugely improve access to other children's services including intensive care and surgery. There will also be much better accommodation for mums and dads to stay on the wards with their children. We are very grateful indeed to Tenovus for this tremendous contribution to the Children's Hospital for Wales".
